Mortal Kombat 11
Mortal Kombat 11 is one of those games that tries to improve on its formula all while staying true to the story and characters, as well as the overall lore in the series. Just like all those previous games, Mortal Kombat 11 is gory and it’s definitely not for the faint of heart. But it does bring in some welcomed changes. It’s designed to be fun, but at the same time it also pushes the boundaries with some new stuff.
Story and gameplay
Right off the bat the story is very intense and interesting. The new villain is named Kronika and her plan is to rewrite time as she tries to stop Raiden from beheading Shinnok and upset the universe balance in the process. The setup is morally ambiguous, and it does involve quite a lot of time travel, which is very exciting and interesting at the same time. The game becomes an amazing thrill because you get to see original versions of the characters as well as revenant versions from MKX.
When it comes to the overall gameplay, Mortal Kombat 11 certainly delivers the goods. The game is all about bringing in a sense of excitement and fun and at the same time you also get a stellar tutorial that teaches you everything you want to know and so much more.
Even if you’re a newcomer to the series, you still have plenty of guidelines to get started. It won’t feel overwhelming. Of course you have brutalities and fatalities, and you can even use multiple attack strategies if you want, that’s up to you and you can pick whatever option suits your needs.
We find the fighting to be very brutal and in line with the stuff you would expect from the game. You have lots of creative attacks and the gameplay is extremely interesting all the time. There’s also a Tower system that gives you access to some cool rewards and features as you see fit. Being able to try out and enjoy some new approaches and systems all the time really pays off a lot. Some of the towers are harder than others, but you do get a fresh and fun gameplay experience either way.
Customization and leveling up
You will level up and acquire new stuff as you play. You can also use the currency in the game to acquire new cosmetics. There are a plethora of customization options all the time, so you can always find something new and creative as you see fit. The loot is random, so your in-game performance might not make that much of a difference to be honest.
Visuals in Mortal Kombat 11 are amazing and the game works quite nicely. It does require a powerful computer to run it, but as a whole we found the title to be very exciting and a pleasure to play. It does take a bit of time to get used to the way you play it, but it’s fun and super enjoyable all the time. Just check it out!
